Florence Welch confirms third Florence + The Machine album

Florence Welch has confirmed work has begun on a third Florence + The Machine album.
The new album will serve as the follow-up to 2011’s Ceremonials, which debuted at Number One in the UK and reached the top ten in the US.
Welch performed at a Mark Ronson-hosted charity event in London on Wednesday night (June 4), and our friends at NME took the opportunity to ask if a new album is in the works.
“Yeah. Yeah there is,” the singer replied.
Meanwhile, at the same event, Welch spoke more extensively about the album’s progress in an interview with our friends at Capital FM.
“I am actually really excited,” Welch said. “I sort of forgot how much of yourself you have to give to a record and how the beginning process of it is so hard. So when actually you’ve come through that process a bit and you can kind of see a clearer picture, you’re like, ‘Oh now I get it’.
The singer then added: “It’s coming through to that other side now and it feels good.”
Welch last entered the charts in late 2012, when she collaborated with Calvin Harris on the Number One dance smash Sweet Nothing. The single marked the second chart-topper for the pair – after Harris’ remix of her band’s track Spectrum (Say My Name) reached the chart summit earlier in the same year.
