Dannii Minogue: ‘I’m working on personal new music’
By Nick Levine
Dannii Minogue has revealed that she is working on new music – and wants it to be “personal”.
In recent years the Aussie star has become best known for her roles on TV shows including The X Factor and Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model, but in the ’90s and early ’00s she earned her living as a pop star, notching up nine top ten hits with dance bangers including I Begin to Wonder and All I Wanna Do.
Her last studio album, Neon Nights, came out in 2003 and her most recent UK top 20 hit was 2006’s So Under Pressure.
“I’m writing some new music and I want to be quite personal with lyrics,” Dannii has now revealed in an interview with The Stylist.
“I’m not signed to a record label, I’m just seeing how it goes and making music for sheer enjoyment. It’s a great place to be.”
During the interview, Dannii also hailed the legalisation of same-sex marriage in the UK, saying it should have happened sooner. “It feels unfair to say that some deserve certain laws to protect them and others don’t,” she said.
