Russian man accusing Apple of turning him gay drops lawsuit against the tech giant

The man was seeking damages for compensation for ‘moral suffering and harm to mental health’

A Russian man claiming his iPhone turned him gay has dropped his lawsuit against Apple.

The man – who has been identified as D. Razumilov – claimed he downloaded a cryptocurrency payment app onto his phone back in 2017.

But this summer, he was sent 69 Gaycoins – an LGBTQ cryptocurrency – from an anonymous sender with the message ‘don’t judge without trying’.

And although he is now in a long-term relationship with a man, Razumilov accused the tech company of ‘manipulatively pushing [him] toward homosexuality’ and was seeking $15,000 – or one million rubles – in damages for compensation for ‘moral suffering and harm to mental health’.

However, now it’s reported Razumilov has dropped his legal fight against Apple, according to his attorney Sapizhat Gusnieva, News 24 reported.

She told reporters at the court: “Today we abandoned the legal demands.

“Razumilov no longer wants to continue with the case,”

The attorney claimed her client faced pressure online after ‘haters found his information’ and was subjected to abuse by Apple supporters.
