Retired gay Congressman: ‘Aaron Schock should be exposed if he’s gay’

A retired gay Congressman has argued that Aaron Schock should be “exposed” if he is gay.
Schock resigned this week following reports that he had failed to disclose a number of expenses, which included taking a male companion with him – who Schock claimed was his photographer – on an official trip to India to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
Despite the rumors surrounding his sexuality, Schock has a long history of voting against pro-gay legislation, which includes votes against same-sex marriage and the repeal of the US Army’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ legislation.
In a new interview, Barney Frank, who is considered to be one of the most prominent openly gay politicians in America, has argued that it would be “hypocritical” for a gay man to vote against gay rights.
“When you are in public office and you vote opposite to the way you live your life, no I don’t think you have privacy,” Frank told ABC. “Anyone who is gay and votes in an anti-gay fashion has, it seems to me, lost their right to privacy, because it’s been converted to a right to hypocrisy.”
