Pope Francis meets with Apple boss Tim Cook

Pope Francis met privately with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Vatican on Friday.
The meeting lasted for 15 minutes, and afterwards the Pope spoke about technology and social media, calling modern communications, “a gift of God.”
“Emails, text messages, social networks and chats can also be fully human forms of communication,” the pontiff is reported to have said. “It is not technology which determines whether or not communication is authentic, but rather the human heart and our capacity to use wisely the means at our disposal.”
It came on the Catholic Church’s World Day of Communications.
Pope Francis, 79, is the leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics. This week, he expressed his concerns over the introduction of civil unions in Italy, which he said was not part of “God’s dream.”
Tim Cook, 55, is one of the world’s most high profile gay businessmen, overseeing Apple – the world’s largest information technology company by revenue.
Cook also met with Italian developers and the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in Rome.
