Gay model used in ‘nobody born gay’ billboard criticises its message

A model featured on a US billboard that suggests “nobody is born gay” has spoken out against his image being used.

The advertisement – currently on Interstate 95 in Virginia – was paid for by US religious group Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays’, who argue that “nobody is born gay,” and say that it is possible to change the gender of a person someone is sexually attractive to. Find out more here.

In a new interview, openly gay model Kyle Roux has criticised the use of his image, revealing that he doesn’t actually have a twin brother.

“I was obviously quite shocked. It just seems like there no place in today’s world for an organization that is promoting this as being some kind of deviant or distasteful lifestyle, because I’ve lived my life openly gay and happy for my entire life,” he told WWBT.

“It’s actually quite a big thing that there is this kind of discrimination and borderline hate speech going on,” he added.
