Two men killed when a fire tore through a luxury hotel in Scotland have been named.
Simon Midgley, 32, and Richard Dyson, 38, were staying at the five-star Cameron House Hotel by Loch Lomand when the blaze broke out early on Monday morning (December 18).
Relatives of the couple, who have not been formally named by police, have been paying tribute on social media, the BBC reports.
Nicky Midgley, of Nottinghamshire, wrote: “It’s with a heavy heart I write this but this dreadful tragedy has taken two amazing beautiful hearted soulmates from me, my heartbroken Mum and brother.
“Reading all your lovely kind words we are grateful.
“Thank you to all those who bravely made the effort to save them. Sleep tight … fly high, x.”
Mr Midgley worked as a freelance journalist and also ran his own PR company, while Mr Dyson was a TV producer.
The couple, from London, were enjoying a winter break at Cameron House Hotel and had shared pictures from their stayl on social media just hours before the deadly fire broke out.
Simon posted a picture of the hotel on Instagram on Sunday with the caption “Home for the weekend!” and later shared a picture of partner Richard enjoying the resort’s spa.
He also posted a picture from the room where the pair died, showing Spice Girls star Mel B on the wall-mounted television opposite the bed.
More than 70 firefighters were called in the tackle the blaze, the cause of which remains under investigation.
Around 200 guests were evacuated from the building, while a baby was resecued from a room dirctly above where Mr Midgley and Mr Dyson were staying.
