Charlie Condou ‘loses use of fingers on left hand’ after long COVID

Charlie Condou has revealed he’s lost the use of fingers on his left hand after long COVID.
The Coronation Street star – who, along with husband Cameron Laux [pictured below], is a father to Georgia, 11, and Hal, eight – shared his experience on Twitter over the weekend.
The actor, who played Marcus Dent on the ITV soap, says he contracted COVID-19 six months ago, added that his hand has suffered “nerve damage.”
“Acupuncture won’t work”
“It’s been almost 6 months since I had Covid-19 and lost use of the fingers on my left hand,” he said. “Still no sign of recovery.”
The 48-year-old added: “Long Covid sucks.”

Charlie, also known for roles on Time Crashers and Holby City, later told a follower: “Its nerve damage so acupuncture won’t work,” while replying to another: “I have phantom smells […] – I often can smell sweaty feet. It’s so weird.”
The star first opened up about his condition on social media in February 2021, saying: “I’ve been suffering from something that is looking more and more like long Covid since October.

“But since Christmas Eve I’ve had incredible pain in my arm and have lost the use of my thumb/forefinger.”
Most people make a full recovery from Covid-19 within 12 weeks. However, some symptoms, from heart palpitations to tinnitus to changes in smell and taste, can last longer.
