Caroline Flack found dead aged 40

The former 'Love Island' host has been found dead at her home in London, reports say.

Caroline Flack has died at the age of 40.

The former Love Island host was found dead at her home in London on Saturday (15 February), reportedly after taking her own life.

A family statement read: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

“We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”

Flack shared a picture of herself with her dog Ruby on Instagram the day before her death, with the caption simply bearing a ‘heart’ emoji.

The star which was replaced as the host of Love Island by fellow presenter Laura Whitmore in December after appearing in court charged with assaulting her partner, Lewis Blurton, 27.

She had been due to appear back in court next month, and had recently returned from a trip to Los Angeles, where she had been staying since her first court appearance in December.

After starting her career as an actress in comedy series Bo’ Selecta! in 2002, Flack went on to host some of British TV’s most established series, including I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW! and The X Factor.

In 2014, she won the 12th series of Strictly Come Dancing, before going on the present the hugely successful relaunched version of Love Island the following year.
