Wagamama’s new rainbow tables will help raise money for LGBT causes during Pride
The UK restaurant chain is putting their money where our mouth is.

Wagamama has unveiled an eye-catching new initiative that’s set to brighten both its restaurants and the lives of vulnerable LGBT+ people this Pride season.
After raising over £7,500 for LGBT+ causes last year by donating money whenever a rainbow was spotted in London, Brighton or Manchester, the UK-based restaurant chain is celebrating Pride season 2018 with another colourful campaign.
Restaurant-goes at will soon see bright rainbow tables and benches appear in selected locations across the country, and every time someone sits at one, the profits from any steamed buns sold with be donated to local LGBT+ causes.
Wagamama sells appromiately 1,000,000 Japanese steamed buns per year across the UK, and they hope the #makeitrainbow campaign will help raise at least £12,500 this summer.
Restaurants in London’s Soho and Birmingham New St. are the first to have had rainbow benches installed, with more set to join them at locations in Brighton, Manchester and Edinburgh over the coming months.
“After the success of last year’s #makeitrainbow campaign, we wanted to reach further and wider,” says Andre Johnstone, Wagammam’s UK Marketing Director.
“Including an additional three cities as part of our campaign is the best way to shout louder about our support for the LGBT+ community.”

Wagamama’s #makeitrainbow campaign will support the following local charities: London Friend, George’s House in Manchester, LGBT Youth in Edinburgh, Birmingham’s SIFA fireside, and Rainbow Fund in Brighton – suddenly we’re feeling rather hungry…
