Rio Ferdinand photoshops football pundit Micah Richards’ head onto Box Menswear thong model

The underwear promptly sold out following the former England pro's wind-up on Twitter last month.

Former England pro footballer turned TV pundit Rio Ferdinand has inadvertently sent saucy Box Menswear thong sales skyrocketing.

In response to some ‘cheeky banter’ with former teammate Micah Richards, this week Rio Ferdinand put his best tech hat on creating (or at least forwarding) a doctored image depicting ‘Richards’ looking buff wearing nothing but a slinky black thong.

The original shot is of London-based model Daniel Shoneye, taken by photographer Jake O’Donnell for Box Menswear back in 2019.

So effective was the fake shot that sales of the revealing thong not only soared but the highly sought-after item is currently sold out in black.
