Meet The LGBTQ NHS Heroes Saving Lives During The COVID-19 Pandemic
Further proof that not all heroes wear capes.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, medical professionals in our NHS hospitals have been on the front line, selflessly going beyond the call of duty to care for patients battling the virus.
It is with great pride that Attitude celebrates the LGBTQ workers who have risked their own wellbeing — both physical and mental — to help those in need, delivering care often above and beyond their roles, for an institution that is the envy of the world over.
In the July issue of Attitude (on sale now) we shine a light on ten NHS employees at St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, as they discuss the difficulties they have faced dealing with the coronavirus, how the government can support them and the passion they feel working for the NHS.

Five of these workers – Rhys Thomas (clinical research nurse), Sophie Thiruthanikasalan (nursing associate), Michael Underwood (senior nurse), Andrew Hartle (consultant anaesthetist) and Mahmoud Dabo (matron) – also gave us a little extra time to talk about these matters on film.
