Pride month may be over, but we’re always looking for other ways to connect with and celebrate LGBTQs. One of those is the Queer Vision Film Festival, hosted by the Watershed cinema in Bristol.

The festival offers a diverse programme of international queer films, including independently made features, animation, and award-winning short films as part of the Bristol Pride festival.

One film included is the recently-released Supernova, starring Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth. You can read our review of it here!

Also featured is Cowboys, which explores the relationship between a father and his transgender son; Tove, a Finnish biopic about the creator of Moomins; Two of Us, a French love story about two neighbours who have been secret lovers for decades, and a special preview of Marley Morrison’s award-winning debut feature Sweetheart, a coming-of-age comedy.

The Trinity Centre is also hosting two outdoor screenings of the camp classic Muriel’s Wedding. There’s also KIKI X QUEER VISION: TAKING LIBERTIES,
an evening of outdoor cinema, food, and music, in collaboration with Kiki Bristol: a collective creating safe social space events led by and for the QTIPoC community.

A selection of South West Queer Shorts from the Cardiff-based LGBTQ film festival Iris Prize will also be available to watch online during the event. People will also be able to join in a discussion of the films in the programme, as well as conversations on straight casting and more

The Queer Vision Film Festival is running from 25 June–26 July.
