Sinead O’Connor shocks fans with Facebook post: ‘You’d be getting a lie’

Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor has taken to social media to announce that she will never again perform her signature song, Nothing Compares 2 U.

The Prince-penned ballad was a worldwide number one for O’Connor in 1990, but now, 25 years later, the singer says doesn’t “emotionally identify” with it.

Reaction from fans has so far been mixed, with some commending the singer for her honesty, while others have asked her to reconsider, given the audience affection for the tune.
