RuPaul’s daytime talk show axed after three-week trial run

RuPaul’s daytime talk show has been axed after three-week trial run.

The show – originally described as a ‘modern take on the talk show format’ – was given a three-week trial period on Fox networks over the summer and featured Michelle Visage and Ross Mathews as Ru’s co-hosts.

Guests included the likes of Paula Abdul, Iggy Azalea and Ciara. But now Entertainment Tonight have reported the talk show will not be heading into syndication.

When speaking to ET back in May at last year’s RuPaul’s DragCon LA, the drag queen superstar opened up about how some projects don’t always work.

He said: “I’ve been in show business for a long, long time.

“You do a lot of projects. Most projects do not work, which is fine. Some do, some don’t.

“You just go in and you do your best and you see what happens. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, that’s OK! But I’m having a great time.

“There’s so much divisiveness in the world right now. I wanna be part of the mending of that.

“The talk show is part of that, Drag Race is a part of that. I believe in love, I believe in kindness.”

It’s not like Ru hasn’t got enough on his plate with the a twelfth season of Drag Race, All Stars 5, the second season of Drag Race UK and his first scripted Netflix series AJ and the Queen.
