‘Pride’ wins Best Film at the Attitude Awards 2014

Pride

has won the Best Film prize, supported by Popchips, at the Attitude Awards 2014.

Released last month (September), Matthew Warchus’s feel-good Brit-flick tells the real-life story of Lesbians and Gay Support the Miners, who banded together to support a small Welsh mining community during the miners’ strike of 1984-85.

Hailed by Attitude as the “greatest gay film of all time”, the film’s all-star cast includes Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and recent Attitude cover star Andrew Scott.

Scott the film’s producer, David Livingstone, accepted the prize from Dr Christian Jessen at tonight’s (October 13) star-studded awards ceremony at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London, which is being hosted by Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic.

Earlier this year, Pride won the Queer Palm Award at Cannes Film Festival when it closed the Directors’ Fortnight of the annual event.
