With just four days to go until its release, Sam Smith has teased what we can expect from his theme song for new Bond film Spectre.

The answer? Well, from the 15 seconds preview the Omen singer tweeted earlier today, it would seem a classic orchestral number that harks back to 007’s golden era is on the cards.

Ooh. Don’t those swooping strings just give you chills? There’s not long to wait until you can hear the whole thing though: ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ – which Sam co-wrote with Grammy-winner Jimmy Napes – is set to premiere this Friday (September 25), with a simultaneous release expected.

“I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it,” Sam previously said of the new track, which has big shows to fill after the success of Adele’s Oscar-winning Skyfall.

Meanwhile, Spectre will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as the iconic secret agent for a fourth time, while Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris will reprise their roles as Q, M, and Miss Moneypenny respectively.

Monica Belluci and Lea Seydoux have joined the cast as two new Bond girls, and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott has also been confirmed as part of the line-up. Oscar-winner director Sam Mendes, who helmed 2012’s Skyfall, has also returned to the director’s chair, for what he says will be his last Bond outing.

Spectre will be released worldwide on November 6.
