Kieron Richardson calls out homophobic complaints in new Channel 4 campaign

Kieron Richardson calls out homophobic complaints about Hollyoaks in a new campaign for Channel 4.

The actor – who is openly gay – is seen kissing his real life husband before turning to the camera and quoting an actual complaint made to the broadcaster.

He says before chomping down on a turkey leg: “I’m not homophobic, but do we have to have gay kissing at dinnertime?”

The new campaign – entitled Complaints Welcome – features some of the channel’s most recognisable actors, broadcasters and comedians who read off complaints that have been made about them.

The likes of Prue Leith, Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud, Catastrophe comedian Sharon Horgan and The Last Leg‘s Alex Brooker also star in the campaign.

Other notable figures include newsreaders Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Jon Snow, comedians Mo Gilligan and Katherine Ryan, contemporary artist Grayson Perry, Countdown presenter Rachel Riley, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, five-time gold Paralympic medallist Ellie Simmonds and the cast of Northern Ireland-set comedy series Derry Girls.
