Ellis-Bextor: ‘Entirely possible that I make more dance music’

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has taken to Twitter to clarify her recent comments about dance music.

The Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) singer said in a recent interview that she does not see herself making a full dance album again, after releasing Wanderlust earlier this year.

She tweeted: “Some folk getting all confused about a recent interview I gave where I said I wasn’t sure I’d make an out and out dance music album again.

“It is entirely possible that I make more dance music. It is entirely possible I have disco on future albums.”

She continued: “Given the sound of Wanderlust, though, I just think each album informs the next and so a fully dance album would be a bit odd now I think.”

Wanderlust – which features her recent singles Young Blood and Love Is A Camera – peaked at number four on the UK’s Official Albums Chart – her best position since her debut album Read My Lips peaked at number two in 2001.
