Duncan James first came out to Geri Horner after they had dated.

The Blue singer took to the stage on Friday (May 11) to host the NatWest British LGBT Awards alongside Scary Spice Mel B, but admitted one of the first people he came out to was Ginger Spice aka Geri.

He told Gay Star News: “Mel B’s just great, I love her. But I used to fancy the pants off Geri.

“We went out on a few little dates, nothing serious. [Then] I told her I was gay…

“I came out to Geri Halliwell, pretty much. She was one of the first people I came out to.

“How many people can say they came out to a Spice Girl?”

The two singers were linked after they presented Party in the Park together back in 2014 but since Geri has married F1 boss Christian Horner a year later.

The couple have a son, Monty, and Geri has a daughter Bluebell from a previous relationship.

While first identifying as bisexual, Duncan – who has a daughter Tianie-Finn – said on Loose Women last year that he now identifies as gay.

He said: “I’m very happy that I’m a gay guy and I have a little girl.

“I had a wonderful response from everyone. We’re living in 2017 it shouldn’t be a problem.

“You know what they say, there’s always a gay one in a boyband. It’s normal now. But sportsman still have trouble and there’s still a stigma in certain countries around the world.”
