Chris Pratt can go out of the Hollywood Chrises, says Twitter

The Jurassic World star's history with Hillsong Church... came up.

By Jamie Tabberer

Chris Pratt has been faux-cancelled after an imaginary battle against Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine and Chris Evans.

Let us explain.

The Jurassic World star was pitted against the other three Chrises in a viral Twitter post over the weekend.

“One has to go” wrote user Amy Berg, along with photos of the actors.

The post prompted thousands of comments – and it’s not looking pretty for Chris P.

Let’s just say his old connection to anti-LGBTQ church Hillsong once again became a talking point.

“His views are terrible and he supports anti-lgbtq churches. Easy”

“Pratt,” replied one user. “His views are terrible and he supports anti-lgbtq churches. Easy.”

Another speculated about Pratt’s (unconfirmed) political beliefs, saying: “remember chris pratt is a trump supporter and a part of anti- lgbtq + church….stan chris evans for clear skin.”

Said a third: “So. You just found out that chris pratt supports an openly h*mophobic church?” before sharing a pic of Chris Evans as Captain America.

“Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides”

Pratt’s connection to Hillsong made headlines last year when Juno star Ellen Page tweeted a video of the actor discussing his faith alongside the message: “Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?”

Page later added: “If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed. Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop. Sending love to all.”

Pratt replied to ensuing backlash by issuing a statement on Instagram, saying: “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church the opens their doors to absolutely everyone.

“Despite what the Bible says about divorce my church community was there for me every step of the way, never judging, just gracefully accompanying me on my walk.

“They helped me tremendously offering love and support. It is what I have seen them do for others on countless occasions regardless of sexual orientation, race or gender.

“My faith is important to me but no church defines me or my life and I am not a spokesman for any church or any group of people.

“My values define who I am. We need less hate in this world, not more. I am a man who believes that everyone is entitled to love who they want free from the judgment of their fellow man.”
