Moretz hit back at the other gay conversion movie 'Boy, Erased'

Chloe Grace Moretz said LGBT films should be made by LGBT people.
The actress is starring in the gay conversion therapy movie The Miseducation of Cameron Post, which was helmed by Desiree Akhavan – an openly bisexual director – but has hit back at the rival conversion movie Boy, Erased.
Despite being based on the memoirs of Garrard Conley – a gay man who was forced to go to therapy as a teenager – the film has been helmed by straight, Hollywood star Joel Edgerton and Moretz said Hollywood aren’t backing LGBT films and directors.
She said: “Even though people want these movies to be told, they ant these things to be said, they’re not backing it enough.
“They’re still backing first and foremost the straight white man who is going to be putting out the movie that’s the safe bet.
“They want something that’s a pretty package, but that’s still tolerable and acceptable. And I think that’s unfair.
“This movie was directed by a bisexual woman of diversity, it has a very diverse cast and we didn’t cast all celebrities.”
The new film is set for release this September.
