Cher Lloyd on Cher praise: ‘I couldn’t wait to tell my mum!’

Cher Lloyd has revealed that she was “shocked” when actual Cher praised her new music video recently – and “couldn’t wait” to tell her mum about it.

The former X Factor contestant’s namesake tweeted to praise the music video for Lloyd’s new single Sirens soon after it debuted last month (May). “I like the song and understand the video,” Cher said of the younger singer’s clip, which deals with drug abuse.

Speaking in the latest issue of Attitude, Lloyd says of Cher’s Twitter praise: “I tweeted her back. That was a bit weird to see. That kind of shocked me.”

Explaining how Cher would have found her video, the 20-year-old continues: “I think my fans ask a lot of people what they think of my stuff. When I saw that tweet, first of all I couldn’t wait to tell my mum. I think at the time it was night time in the UK so I couldn’t tell her. I had to wait until the next day. I was absolutely buzzing, it was amazing!”
