Bette Midler questions Azealia Banks’ Twitter suspension
Bette Midler has called out Twitter after they suspended Azealia Bank’s official account – saying their policy of blocking abusive users doesn’t go far enough.
This weekend 212 singer Azealia Banks launched into a tirade of homophobic abuse on Twitter against Zayn Malik, calling his a “curry-scented b*itch” and a “d*ck-riding” “f*ggot” before eventually having her account suspended.
Responding to the new yesterday, however, Midler raised a fair point: Why would Twitter remove Banks’ account, but leave US Rebublican presidential hopeful Donald Trump to roam free on the social media site.

Trump, who looks set to officially secure the party’s nomination this summer, has been largely divisive on issues surrounding race and sexuality, even stating that he would consider reversing the Supreme Court’s decision last year to legalise gay marriage across the United States.
