America’s Next Top Model is making a ‘fierce-a-fied’ comeback

One of the most successful reality fashion shows in television history is making a return to the runway with a vengeance.

Almost three months after Nyle DiMarco was crowned winner of what was thought to be the final season to the long-running America’s Next Top Model, it has been announced the series will be moved from the CW network and reinvented for VH1.

Series creator Tyra Banks is stepping down from her hosting duties to make way for a new cast of presenters and judges for Cycle 23, which will run across 14 episodes.

“After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn,” said Banks.

“I will continue as Executive Producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavours, so I want to find a new host. I’m pumped to identify that person and bring back the show.

“Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!”

General Manager of VH1 Chris McCarthy said he was “thrilled” to reinvent ANTM franchise for a whole new generation.

“This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched,” he said.

Last year’s winner and Attitude favourite Nyle DiMarco also shared the news to Twitter. “Officially retiring “Last ANTM winner” in my bio,” he wrote.

“ANTM… IS… BACK! Best of luck, models!!!”
