American Horror Story star Rose Siggins dies, age 43

American Horror Story 

star Rose Siggins has died at the age of 43.

The actress, who was best known for playing ‘Legless Suzi’ in the fourth season of Ryan Murhpy’s horror anthology series ‘Freak Show’ passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Denver, Colorado, TMZ reports.

Siggins, who leaves behind a husband and two children, had been admitted to hospital the previous Monday for kidney stone surgery, during which she contracted an infection which ultimately caused her death.

She suffered from sacral agenesis, a rare genetic disorder that affects development of the lower spine, and which caused her legs to be amputated at the age of 2. The cast of American Horror Story co-stars have been paying tribute to their former co-star since the news of her untimely death broke.

Sarah Paulson posted a series of moving tweets honouring Siggins, who she called “an absolute light”.

“I will never forget your laugh or your beautiful eyes,” she wrote, before sharing an old picture of herself on set with Siggins and the show’s former lead, Jessica Lange.

Rose’s passing is the second tragedy to befall the cast of Freak Show this year: Her former co-star Ben Woolf – starred in seasons 1 and 4 as Infantata and Meep respectively – died in hospital in February after being hit by a passing car in Hollywood. Fans have since paid tribute to the pair on social media.
