Alan Cumming to host Attitude Awards 2016, in association with Virgin Holidays

By Attitude Magazine

We’re thrilled to formally announce that Attitude Awards 2016 in association with Virgin Holidays will take place on on October 10, hosted by none other than Alan Cumming.

The Scottish stage and screen star will oversee proceedings at the star-studded ceremony in central London – now celebrating its fifth year in 2016 – after going down a storm as host of last year’s inaugural Attitude Pride Awards.

The Attitude Awards will take place at London’s 8th Northumberland Avenue and will once again celebrate the social, political, cultural figures who shape Attitude readers’ worlds.

The event is famed for its recognition of LGBT milestones and representation, with those honoured at last year’s Awards including Yoko Ono, Vivienne Westwood, Boy George, Holly Johnson, April Ashley, Lorraine Kelly, Newnight’s Evan Davis and many more.

Attitude is proud to confirm that the Attitude Awards 2016 will once again benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation and can announce today that in excess of £50,000 has been raised for the charity since the Awards’ inception in 2011.

“We’re so thrilled and happy to be presenting the 5th Attitude Awards”, says Attitude Editor Matthew Todd. “The event has quickly become the most high profile and glamorous gay event in Europe and has been attended by Cher, Boy George, Yoko Ono, Sir Ian Mckellen, Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Daley, Carrie Fisher, Jonathan Ross and Naomi Campbell amongst many others.

“We’re very much looking forward to again working with our headline sponsor Virgin Holidays to make this year’s event the best yet.”

Mark Anderson, Managing Director, Virgin Holidays, adds: “I’m really delighted to enter our fifth year as headline sponsor of the Attitude Awards and everyone at Virgin Holidays remains proud and passionate about this partnership.

Equality in travel has long been a priority for Virgin Holidays and it’s always great to see Attitude working tirelessly for the LGBT community. It’s only when we can be who we really are, both in and out of the workplace that our individuality and talent can flourish.

“I am looking forward to another inspirational evening – celebrating incredible individuals and what they achieve and contribute within our community.”

Stay tuned for more news and announcements about this year’s event as the date draws closer.
